A level and Level 3 Vocational courses

We are delighted to report the best ever A level results at Bungay High Sixth Form. The percentage of A levels graded at A* to C has risen significantly to an impressive 79% with half of all entries graded at A*-B. The overall pass rate for our A levels is 98%. Equally impressive, is the pass rate for our Level 3 vocational and technical courses at 97% with most of the grades awarded at the very highest levels.

Points per entry at A level have improved consistently since 2013 and the performance of L3 Vocational subjects is rated as a Distinction* (41).  We achieved our best ever A level results in 2016; the A* to E was 98% and A* to C was 79% (2015: 70%/99%, 2014:60%/97%, 2013: 47%/97%). We have an inclusive entry policy where students can study a wide range of ‘A’ Levels and/or vocational qualifications at Level 3.  ALPS indicators show that our top performing subjects at A level were: Applied Science (3), Biology (2), English Lang/Lit (2), Maths (2), Further Maths (2), Music (2). It is significant that the after our pleasing 2015 results, 2016 saw the following subject improve their ALPS: Applied Science, Art and Design, Textiles, Biology, English Lang/Lit, French, Health and Social Care (Double), History, Maths, Further Maths, Music, Philosophy and Ethics.

GCSE courses

We are extremely proud of the progress which our students make in the five years that they are with us. There has been a significant improvement in the progress that students are making in English and Maths alongside their other subjects. We are pleased that the hard work of students has been recognised through improved individual and collective whole school results. Overall, 67% of our students achieved 5A*-C, a 7% increase on last year, with 55% achieving A*-C in English and Maths.
