Be Active

We believe that staying fit, healthy and mobile leads to greater wellbeing and happiness both in and out of school. We are one of the top performing schools in Suffolk for sport and we have teams in Hockey, Netball, Rounders, Cricket, Football, Rugby and many other sports including some not so mainstream for example Taekwondo and Boccia. We pride ourselves on our high levels of sportsmanship as well as competitive spirit but also strive to be all inclusive, catering for all abilities.

Community links are well established and we have many coaches supporting the school and not just for sport but also Duke of Edinburgh awards, Charity events and taster sessions. We are very proud of our past students who have gone on to achieve national success in sport, for example: Joe Lewis (England U21 footballer), Jaik Mickleburgh (England U19 cricketer & professional cricketer for Essex CC), Thomas Barber (Member of Great Britain’s Olympics Archery team 2011), Tim Whiteman (GB and England Hockey Player)

The school lives up to the Olympian and Paralympian values which are genuinely an inspiration to each generation and was was privileged to have had a group present at the 2012 opening ceremony as Guards of Honour to the athletes.
