The Curriculum at Bungay High School
We are justifiably proud of our curriculum at Bungay High School. It provides balance and variety across all three key stages.
Students in year 7 and 8 take a full range of subjects, in mixed ability groups (other than maths which sets from Christmas in year 7). At Easter of year 8, students take their Key Stage 4 options, which leads to a foundational year of study in year 9 and then Key Stage 4 courses in year 10 and 11.
A large number of our students continue into our 6th Form, where a range of ‘A’ level and Level 3 and 2 vocational courses are offered.
Pupils benefit from a broad curriculum supplemented by a wide range of extra activities.
During the 2017-18 academic year, we are conducting a full review of the Key Stage 3 curriculum ready for September 2018. This review will ensure that the Key Stage 3 curriculum builds on what has been done at primary school, and develops the core knowledge and skills which are crucial for each of the subjects. Full details of this new curriculum will be published later in 2018.
